Has anyone else had panic attacks with fibro? I have suddenly started having them, I have always had anxiety but wonder if anyone else has this issue with fibro.

Yes, I started having them when I began having weird symptoms that I could not explain. After being diagnosed, I still have them right before I have a bad flare up. I think stress plays a big role in mine.

Yup, I had them before I was even diagnosed and now I even have them while I'm sleeping. I also have social and generalized anxiety so def monitor what stresses you.

Hi. Yes. I have been having terrible panic attacks for a year now. I had been struggling to cope with my fibromyalgia symptoms for about 4 years, and then one day I collapsed on a bus which made me have a panic attack. I now find it difficult to go out because I have lost all my confidence and get panicky about being away from the house which is my safety zone.

Yes. I started having anxiety attacks several years back (before fibro diagnosis). After a while, they seemed to subside, and actually, I did not have problems with them for a long time. I have started having them some again recently. Mostly during the night. Those are the worst in my opinion; to wake up to that can be very frightening.

they say this could happen but I don't beieve it, it has to be due to something neurlogical.

it's probably related to neurochemical/neurotransmitters. i never had any anxiety until my big flare last summer, and i still do not have full fledged panic attacks, just anxiety at times. may be related to blood sugar levels also.
