fibro and lung problems?

I was just wondering if anyone else has been diagnosed with lung fibrosis? My fibromyalgia started with lung problems(non smoker),than chest pains, raynauds syndrome, panic attacks and now I pretty much have all the other symptoms of fibro. My Dr. does'nt seem to think the lung problem and fibro are related but i'm still curious if anyone else has experienced this?

I agree with your doctor that your lung fibrosis is not related to fibromyalgia (FMS). I assume that you are seeing a rheumotologist for treatment of FMS. If not, you should be because of the multitude of symptoms that you present. You can go to the National Fibromyalgia Association website and ask them for a referral in your area.

As for the fibrosis, this may be due to another auto-immune problem called Sjogrens. I have a friend with FMS and Sjogrens who also has fibrosis. It is not uncommon for FMS and Sjogrens to be linked. This is not something to be ignored. You should certainly be tested for it by rheumotologist. There is some information on Sjogrens on this website.

I know that is is a lot to handle in view of the other health problems that you are experiencing.
In fact, I was reluctant to even respond to your post. Your doctor may not have even considered Sjogrens as a possiblity as it is rare and under diagnosed. Take care and let us know how you are doing.
