Feeling Faint

I keep feeling really faint as if my body is here but my body is not, constantly feel on another planet and as if I am going to pass out,is this normal for fibro?

I have that all the time as I also have (and is common in CFS/FM) Neurally Mediated Hypotension or NMH. It's a LOW blood pressure disorder where the brain and heart don't communicate well.

When the nerve in the heart's left ventricle sends the message that blood pressure needs to increase...the brain reads it as blood pressure needs to DECREASE...less blood to the brain is the result...light headedness, fainting, feeling not quite here, weak, etc.

Horizontal has become my favorite position. Sometimes I just need 10 minutes that way and I feel better enough to be vertical for another half hour to a full hour.

There is a Tilt Test which monitors your Blood pressure while in different positions (from vertical to horizontal to upside down). It sucks and really they have no clue what causes NMH so they are just treating symptoms as best they can....which they can do without doing the test.

I'm on a High Blood Pressure (BP) med. called veralin PM and I'm on the Lowest dosage possible...which helps keep my BP steady...at mostly dead...not completely dead (LOL from the movie Princess Bride).

Anyway, take moving slowly...and get horizontal when you are really faint...so you don't pass out and fall...causing an injury.

Take care from a horizontal slow fibro friend.

Hope you are feeling better soon.
