Goonie - September 3

Anyone has seen improvement with EDTA IV chelation? I'm on my 16th treatment with not much improvement. (Although I still have half of my amalgams..still working on that :)

I am eleveated in lead, mercury and aluminium.

I had treatments with chelation. I can't say it helped very much. I later found out that there is potential for harm! My doctor did not tell me this, and he should have - chelation will take certain heavy metals out of your body, but it will also take out the good minerals your body needs. Please ask your doctor about supplementing with extra minerals.

I became very sick later on - and one of my problems was low levels of certain important minerals in my body. Google for more information on this. The mineral balance is especially important if you are taking antidepressants. For example, Prozac depletes your body of potassium, and other drugs deplete your sodium.

Years ago, I got chelation at $50 per IV shot - the nurse kept saying she felt so bad giving me the chelation because it was so expensive! (Wonder what that meant, maybe that he was marking it up a lot?) This doctor also prescribed tons of supplements (sold in his shop) and gave me very large doses of them. One was a certain enzyme, and he told me to take 20-25 tablets a day!! I did that, and became very ill, so i quit going. When i went back and read the fine print on the bottle it said to take 5 a day.

So, just my opinion, be careful. I believe in alternative methods and supplements, but you have to educate yourself to protect yourself from some people who are just in it for the money.
