Ear Ringing and Heartburn

What is the cause of the occasional ear ringing and flares of heartburn? Any solutions to this?

Not sure about the ear ringing except I think it is one of the myriad of seemingly unrelated symptoms you get with FMS. Heartburn is also a possible side effect. My heartburn started before I had FMS and is due to a hiatal hernia (the valve that keeps gastric acids from backing up from the stomach into the throat is stretched out of shape) and there is little I can do but take prescription meds (I take Nexium). In your case, if it is only occasional, it could be caused by diet or stress (stress increases stomach acid production). Before I began taking Nexium, I lived on Tums. There are other OTC heartburn meds as well. As with any symptom, you should mention these to your doc so they can make sure nothing else is going on. If your heartburn becomes very bad you should see a gastroenterologist. Chronic heartburn if left untreated can start to erode the lining of the esophagus and can eventually lead to esophageal cancer. If your flares are only occasional, it is probably not a big deal, but in my case, if untreated, I have heartburn 24/7.
