Dry mouth
2 Replies
Carol - July 21

I have always had dry eye's, dry vagina and dry skin. Lately my mouth has been so dry that my toung sticks to the roof of my mouth. I am chewing gum all day and throughout the night. The only thing I can think of is my eating habits. I don't eat much and when I do I am very good about eating the right things. BUT I love sweets, I alway get the food that has Splenda, or the alcohol sugars, I have icecream every night (no sugar no fat) and gum is sugarless. Could any of those sugars make my mouth very dry? If I don't chew gum then my mouth is so dry it makes it very hard to talk because my toung sticks to the roof of my mouth.

Try cutting out all sweetners, I don't think they do fibro sufferers any good. I used to use them and make sure anything I buy now does not have any sweetners in. Check out the fibro diet on this site, it recommends that you cut them out, plus other things. I've done this and so far have lost 5 lbs, but more importantly, I think it's helping my pain.

You can buy mouth moisturizing drops and moisturizing mouth wash at the drug store to help combat dry mouth. I've found them both helpful.
