Dr. Sarno's book?
Kristien - August 6

Has anyone else here read Dr. Sarno's book(s), The Mind Body Perscription and/or Healing Backpain? I have read one and am starting on the other. I think his theories could be true, I am trying to hard to think about myself as he describes and feel like I am giving it a good shot and being open but I just can't seem to feel better? Anyone see success from his books or anyone had the same problem I am having? Thanks!

I just read BOTH of Dr Sarno's books. I too found that they made a lot of sense to me. I got the book on audio from the local library so I can listen to it over & over again... it makes a lot of sense. more sense than most of what I've heard. I wish I had heard of it 5 years ago before I had advanced to FM. keep posting about your success with it, it could help many people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tanner: Youre confused.I'm not this jerry guy i'm Debra. Why would i even bother to say something so stupid like this guy is saying.I know what caused me to develop fibromyalgia. Its many different things.Again i'm not this jerry person. So you can argue with him. Please no more.

The book "the mindbody prescription" by John Sarno addresses fibromyalgia. He believes it to an equivalent to a disorder that he calls TMS. I would advise anyone suffering from chronic pain to read his books. I credit him for saving my life....no joke.

Doug

Doug is Tanner is he is crazy .Watch Out.He will do anything to make you think that its your mind thats causing your pain.He has gone way to far to try to play with my mind and to try to get people to think that im the crazy.THE BOOK IS A WASTE OF YOUR MONEY.HE USES DIFFERENT NAMES AND PLAYS MIND GAMES WITH PEOPLE AND TRY'S TO MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE THE VILLAN.HE'S A HEAD CASE.A VERY SICK PERSON THAT IS TRYING TO TAKE OVER THIS WEB SITE SO YOU CAN ALL BUY THE BOOKS AND WASTE YOU TIME AND MONEY AND DEAL WITH HIS INSANE HEAD GAMES.I"M GOING TO REPORT HIM.HE IS TRULY A SCARY SICK PERSON.

Debra,

I guess I'll reply to this post as well. I was made aware of this forum through the TMShelp.com forum where you're discussion with Tanner was mentioned. I am a devoted fan of Sarno because he helped me get over my pain. You can disagree all you want, but please let other people make their own judgements. I wish you the best of luck....and I mean that sincerely.

By the way, I have no idea who Tanner is, but I think that he is trying to help, but perhaps it came over a little strong. Seriously, check out the "TMShelp.com forum" and have a read through....maybe you can find some info of value.

Regards, Doug

one more thing...... someone should report YOU for your insane use of profanity. I welcome a "reporting" because it would PROVE that there are several people posting here & it isn't just me making up names. your reaction to our advice has been completely out of proportion to what has been said here. you are clearly unstable. *******************************************do you know there are 13 & 14 yr old kids who have fibro too? they may come here for answers? you should be removed & you should be disgusted with yourself & your language*********************************

I'm outta here for good, you're really nuts lady!

I too have read John Sarno's books [and there's another one out there by someone else,..but I'm on vacation now and can't remember his name,..but if you type in 'Tension Myositis Syndrome',..you'll find it].
Books about this title are very, very interesting. I've had experience in hypnosis and 'energy work',...and have learned that anything we give energy to, increases. [ie; focusing on it too much]. It wasn't a 'cure-all' for me,...but it sure does help. I liked the 'other guy's' book better than Sarno's,...if I can find his name,..I'll post it. The mind-body connection is a powerful thing in ANY dis-ease. It's well worth your read,..in my opinion

I read the mindbody prescription, it helped me a lot but I'm not cured. sometimes repressed feeling can cause all sorts of trouble in your body. your mind and body aren't separate they are one. he has a new book called the divided mind, I'm going to buy it I think. Scientists are saying that feelings cause all sorts of body symptoms, look at ulcers & migraines, they usually = stress. there is always a lot to learn. I think it's great to share all ideas because it might help someone else. I hope this forum gets more positive soon, this is really bad. for what its worth I would say read the books, please don't yell at me for it debra. i'm just saying what I feel. thanks :)

Interesting Post. I have read the books and find them to be potentially helpful for the people that have not had there Fibro triggered by an accident. Personnaly they haven't done a thing for me as my fibro is whiplash related. Positive thinking is a good thing. I would suggest Dr Lamb's website. Also reading the above posts I also noticed that there are men on here. I thought this was a female sight to help us females. All the best Kristien. Good luck.

stop playing games - August 6

you can't buy the books at TMSHelp.com its just a forum. the more people turn this into a joke the less possibility that someone will read the books & get well. no one is trying to make money out here. I've never met Sarno & he's certianly not cutting ME a cheque. I would still recommend checking out our site to learn more about your condition, this is turning into a joke out here & the whole point is to give people another option. take it seriously & stop goofing around with the multiple posts!!!!!
