Does pregnancy make FM worst?

Hi everyone. I'm new here and reading these questions and answers has been sobering for me. I am 31 years old and was diagnosed with FM 7 yrs ago when i was 24. My symptoms were tolerable except for the flair ups which i had learned to manage. Now i have had two babies in 23 months and i was convinced that pregnancy did my FM some good with the first pregnancy because i did great. i ONLY had to deal with the discomforts of pregnancy and compared to FM, it was a breeze. but shortly after the delivery i began to have SEVERE and worsening symptoms. I got pregnant again and things got even worst(didn't think that was possible). I delivered that baby on 9/11/07 and thought that things would go back to normal. thing are worst even still. does this sound familiar to anyone?

I did not develop fibromyalgia symptoms until well after having my three children, but I do know, from my experience, that stress can be a trigger for fibromyalgia as well as cause worsening of symptoms. Pregnancy (especially when you already have a little one to take care of) and post partum adjustment to a new baby can be overwhelming and stressful. If you haven't yet, I would suggest you see your health care professional and even a counselor if needed to help adjust to the new baby while dealing with your own illness.
