I need to vent. Sorry. I went to a ne rheumotologist yesterday and i really liked him up to the point he says he doesn't believe that Fibro patients need pain pills. WHATEVER!!! we are in a lot of pain and when i have flare ups that is when i need the pain pills. Regardless to say i am already working on finding a new dr. Thanks for letting me vent. LOL Fibro Hugs

Have you researched online the types of pain meds that work for fibro pain? Also try to find a pain specialist who is familiar with fibro. A rheumotologist is more concerned with treating fibro as a whole and doing things to help prevent the flares such as yoga, treating sleep problems and dealing with depression. While a pain specialist is more concerned with treating the pain and will me more likely to perscribe pain meds.

I tried to get in the pain management clinic in my town but they told me they don't treat FMS because narcotics are not needed. Can you believe that??? I had a really bad flare up yesterday where i cried all day due to the pain. I can't believe people think we don't need pain meds. It amazes me.
