Do I have Fibromyalgia
2 Replies
Kerry - June 21

I feel so much pain in my left side of my chest yet everything proves ok after numerous tests on my heart. I have morning stiffness in my feet and hands. There are times i feel as though I cannot walk when I first get up. Am I going nuts or is this really a fibromyalgia?

Kerry , this sounds more like chronic myofacial pain because it it predominate left side. I have both mfps and fibro . To deal with mfps you need to see a physiatrist, sounds like (fizzsiatrist) they work in the nuerology feild. For the fibro symptoms a ruemotologist is who you need to see. The mfps is there every single day for me I have to do constant strechoing and be very carefull not to overstrech or it gets worse. main symptom is I cannot volantarily relaxe the muscles in my back and arms, my left side is definitly much worse than the right. The fibro for me, feel like rubberbands around my arms legs chest etc. equally both sides.Seek help it is a constant part of this to seek out Drs. that can help I'm still looking to resolve losing my job over this. Good luck and hang in there.

The morning stiffness sounds like Fibromyalgia. that is when I usually feel the most pain and I also sometimes feel like I am going to fall when I first get out of bed or stand after a long period of sitting or laying down. I would recommend seeing a rheumatologist who will run tests to eliminate hypothyroidism, lupus, and others that may cause similar symptoms. good Luck!
