Do I have fibro?

I have always had severe pain in my lower back to each side of my spine if I am touched there or even bump into something. It feels like a really bad bruise and I can feel it for 5-10 minutes. I had a massage last night and I am so sore in my entire back I cant even believe it. Does this sound like fibromyalgia? I thought the massage might help with the tissue pain, but it is so bad now I've been taking Tylenol all day. Thanks for any insight or suggestions

It would probably serve you well to ask to see a rhumetologist. These doctors are specialists with that kind of thing. I hope you feel better.

jj, It sounds a lot like FMS, but you may benefit from seeing a chiropractor to. I mean a good one though, that takes x-rays & does a through exam before starting in on you. I have a massage therapist that really helps me, buthe does a special kind of massage for people with FMS. I don't know what it is called. I will ask him though. I also find a whirlpool or hot tub to be helpful. I know the kind of pain you are talking about! Simple little everyday bumps hurt 10xs worse than they should! The bottoms of my feet & the palms of my hands feel like they are bruised. It's especially bad in the mornings & I walk like a drunk for hours before I can get use to IT! I do agree that you should see a rheumatologist, but you may need to have your family doctor refer you though. Hope this helps.
