Discogenic!!! LET'S DANCE!

So, appointment with the neurologist this morning indicates two bulges (as already determined) that are not horrible, but are bad enough to be causing some of the pain I describe. FINALLY!!! A doctor that believes me!!!
He can not say whether I have FMS or not, but is inclined to believe he can deal with the disc problem to relieve some pain. I've been advised to keep my appointment with the Rheumatologist as the other symptoms can not be associated with the disc issue. I will be contacted in a couple of days to schedule an epidural shot to decrease the inflamation as well as try a new type of therapy that will strengthen the back and core muscles. So that's where we are now. Rheumatologist will hopefully account for the rest of my irritating issues. For today though, I am choosing to ride on cloud nine!

Ang - I can understand why you feel vindicated! The last time I saw my spine specialist he basically poo-pooed my pain level in my lower back. Gave me some crap about the most recent MRI not looking that bad etc. We had a knock down drag out fight over it. His suggestion was surgery so he "could see what is going on." I prevailed and was given the Flector Pain Patch. Sometimes you just have to throw a fit to get anyone's attention. I hope that the epidural is helpful.

Now, on to the rhuemy to see what they have to say. Good luck with everything and keep in touch. Wishing you and your family a very happy and healthy New Year.
