cymbalta dose rant
2 Replies
bbass - January 5

ok, not to long ago I asked about cymbalta dose...my doctor put me on 60, after having been on 30 for 6 months...been on new dose for 2 weeks and for 2 weeks have been more depressed, more anxious, and my feet and legs, and hips and shoulders and head have been hurting me like crazy! Terrible shooting nerve pain in my right leg and acting like a emotional maniac! I was doing pretty good on 30 but Dr. thought my anxiety was too high (probably because I brought in a list of tests that I wanted done, and he thought my anxiety was making me obsess about my health!) Anyhow, was trying to wait it out, thinking it would get better, more is better right? If 30 is good, 60 is great? Well, I am here to tell you that it ain't so...going back to 30...dr. gave me the okay...
Thank you, just needed to rant about it...sorry to yell, but it felt cathartic.

bbas, yes, I think 30 is better for me also, I think clearer and I seem to have less pain, go figure. I did do 60mg for awhile, and then I asked to go to 30 because I felt more normal and 60 made me whippy.

30 it is for some of us.

For anti-depressants, once you reach a therapeutic dose that works for your anxiety, depression, pain whatever, increasing the dose will do nothing positive and will only make you experience more side effects at an increased magnitude.
