Cymbalta and Trazadone

Teresa: I believe your knowledge might help me. I'd like your opinion. As you know I have been taking trazadone and lately have increased it but it's not getting me back to sleep. I stopped taking effexior (and am so happy about that - no problems with going off) but I wonder if that with the traz was making me sleep more deeper. I need to see the doc about getting something for sleep but don't know if he realizes combos of meds might be better than switching to something new. Do you have any ideas on this?

Virg, I just got back from the doc's office! That's exactly what he put me on 2 weeks ago & it seem to be work real well !! I am taking 2, 50mg trazadones & 2, 30mg cymbaltas @ night before bed. They don't make me sleepy but once I go to sleep, I don't wake up ( maybe once) all night!!! Once I slept so sound that I slept rigth THROUGH the BEEPING SIREN alarm for almost a hour! My cat was in my face meowing, I think he thought I was DEAD!! I must warn you though, the cymbalta was 214 dollars for a 1 month supply here in SW Missouri ( :P). I am still having a problem falling to sleep though, so I have ordered a 3" memory foam bed topper. I hope that will help!! I'm also waking up in the morning really stiff ( like I have been in one postion ALL night) & I hope the foam will take care of that TOO!

ThanksTeresa thats what I LIKE straight info. luv your cat. I checked with my pharmasist and at first he didn't know about Cymbalta but after looking it up (I guess its a med in the states) he said it was a cross between effexor and prosac. Which I have taken. He recommended REMRON and I looked it up on the web and got some horror stories. I still will be talking with the doc
and maybe we'll come up with some combo yet.
