Hi
I am having to use a stick now but am finding it quite painful to my hands!!
Is there anyone out there who uses crutches? if you do can you tell me how to obtain them please? Do you see GP or Rheumatologist to request some??
or do we have to find a site or shope to buy them?
many thanks

You can go to any medical supply store in your area and buy them. Why not consider a walker that has wheels, folds up and a seat with a bin under it. That should be less painful to use and will give you an instant seat if needed. Again you can buy one at any medical supply store or I have see similar walkers for sale at Costco or Sams Club. Take care.

Crutches can often be extremely uncomfortable under the arms because most of your body weight is on them as you lean on them. I'm wondering if it would be painful for someone with fibro to use them. Is there someone that you could possibly borrow them from to try it before purchasing them. Our local emergency squad usually has some that a resident can use temporarily and maybe yours would also so you could test them out first. I'm thinking that a walker might end up being a better option as Fantod suggested.
