CRITICAL INFO on the Fibro and Fatigue Centers
5 Replies
barbar - December 14

This is in no way intended to start any mess again, but once again I took Larry/Kathy/Helen's information to heart and went to the FibroandFatigue website. I did this with every intention of trying once again to try their approach and set up an appointment. After duly reading through all of the information they provided online, LOOK WHAT I FOUND ON THEIR LEGAL PAGE (take a real good read, Larry/Kathy/Helen because maybe you had not seen it before):

"Terms of Service
Disclaimer
YOU SHOULD ALWAYS SPEAK WITH A HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL BEFORE TAKING ANY DIETARY, NUTRITIONAL, HERBAL OR HOMEOPATHIC SUPPLEMENT. Fibromyalgia & Fatigue Centers, Inc. does not warrant and shall have no liability for information provided in this site regarding recommendations concerning supplements for any and all health purposes. This information is provided solely as a guideline to be used when discussing a program with a healthcare professional. THE CLAIMS MADE ABOUT SPECIFIC NUTRIENTS OR PRODUCTS HAVE NOT BEEN EVALUATED BY THE FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION. DIETARY SUPPLEMENTS ARE NOT INTENDED TO DIAGNOSE, TREAT, CURE OR PREVENT DISEASE. Please consult with a healthcare professional before starting any diet, exercise or supplementation program. FIBROMYALGIA & FATIGUE CENTERS, INC. MAKES NOT GUARANTEE OR WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO ANY PRODUCTS OR SERVICES SOLD, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. " This is part of their own disclaimer. It then goes on for three or four more paragraphs. They themselves don't even claim that the stuff they're pumping through your veins is fit for "merchantability"---that means for sale---or for a particular purpose---that means, for what you shelled out the thousand bucks and drove the 200 miles for. That's enough to scare ya. (The introduction line that's capitalized is their capitalization. The others are sections I capitalized because I thought they were especially important.) Again, just doing my research. And please, Larry/Kathy/Helen, don't pick a fight with me about this. This is the Fibro and Fatigue Centers, Inc.'s own disclaimer by their own legal department. You may not have done it but whenever I'm set on a major project, I ALWAYS check with legal. Did you know that they don't stand by their own products and services?

Thanks for the info Barbar. I appreciate you sharing this info with me and I do know that your intentions are genuine. You asked me if this info bothers me- no, it really doesn't. It sure can look scary though however I have seen this message a million times on websites and just about every bottle of vitamins and herbal supplements. It is quite standard, even Dr. Andrew Weil's site has this info.I guess doctors and on-line sites need to be legally covered? Anyway, thanks for letting me know though, I appreciate it.

Larry/Kathy/Helen: It is this part of the disclaimer that is most significant---"FIBROMYALGIA & FATIGUE CENTERS, INC. MAKES NO GUARANTEE OR WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO ANY PRODUCTS OR SERVICES SOLD, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE." This part is not standard. This is an organization saying we do not stand behind our product. This is NOT standard at all. Comapre it to the legal disclaimers you get from conventional doctors or even from your auto mechanic.

I am sorry that you are scared or that I scared you somehow. ... They probably are not a good fit for you. BTW, you probably noticed by now thru your research that they are real medical doctors and that the vitamins and nutrients are offered as pills to take orally or an IV. ( I choose IV method and it does help me feel great). I hope this helps.
