I was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia & like many others I have a gazillion questions rampaging through my noggin. I've only caught one at the moment though. With the symptoms and other issues such as severe pain, is it common to have a time period when it's much worse and time periods that are much more tolerable? Or is a consistant level of pain and dysfunction?

Hello - Pain varies from day to day. I find mine is driven by the level of stress I am experiencing. There will be good days and bad days which makes it hard to plan. You may be having a flare right now which will eventually improve. Better days are ahead and we are all here to help.

Like Fantod, my FMS symptoms seem to be directly related to stress. I can often anticipate having a bad day or week after a particularly stressful event. I really don't get severe pain very frequently. I am most frequently plagued by fibro-fog and cognitive problems with only minor aches and pains.
