Confidence

Has anyone's confidence taken a knock. I have had a few bad flare ups this year and my confidence has become quite low. I feel edgy quite a lot.Feels like the illness is ruling me.

The way to build your confidence level is to take control.

Hi Ali..I feel like you do and eventually was referred to see a clinical psychologist (im from the UK). She helped me enormously. More than any pain meds I have taken. She helped me to realise that it is not my fault that I have this awful condition and gave me the strength to be more confident about telling people what I have. She encouraged me to make the most of my "good days" and to try to be more spontaneous as I was letting the fear of flare ups rule my life. It wasn't easy but I feel more confident now, although Ill never be the person I was. I was referred through my pain clinic at my local hospital. XX
