chronic pain, no relief.

I have had chronic pain for many years, especially migraines, and now fibro. I have had some kind of pain med for them which all my life. Now, I can't get anything except through a pain clinic (which I did for 18 months) already. I completed their program and was 50% better. This was all they could do for me. Now I'm back to the ER for pain as no doctor wants to prescribe narcotics of any kind, so now what??
after all these years of non addiction from pain pills,(verified by pain clinic in writing) I feel I am looked at as a druggie now if I ask for anything for pain. Is this all about the FDA and fear of being investigated for prescribing to many pain pills, where does that leave us who need and never abused our pain meds?? I know, back to the ER.

Have they ever given you a drug called Toradol for your migraines? The Dr. gives me an injection of Toradol combined with Phenergan (for nausea). This is a powerful anti-inflammotory that I have also received in an IV that seems to work well for migraines. If you asked for it at the hospital, they would never think you are an addict-- I have been in your shoes with suspicious Dr's and nurses at the ER, and have been kept hurting and crying in the waiting room while they decided if I was really in pain--it is awful!
