Is there a place we can chat. I really need to talk to people like me. I feel I can't live like this anymore. I just hate it; being me. I am tired of trying. I know i have to go on. I know I do. I just hurt all over and need a close friend to share everything with. I am alone here. There are no others like me. Just family that make me feel sad. Just having a bad day sorry.

barbiepink, i'm sorry you are having a bad day. I'm like you when i am having a bad day i don't think i can live with this illness. I cry alot becasue i can't do things with my kids. they are all grown but when they ask me to go to walmart or the mall and i have to say no because i hurt so bad it depresses me. But on the bright side when i do have good days i decided that i am going to beat this illness. i will just the site off and on during the day so if you want to talk then i will be able to respong. It will be ok and it will get better. What kind of meds are you taking??

There is a chat room I found last week:

It seems like a good enough group of people. Just like here there are those that know quite a bit, and some that don't. But they all know what FM is about. There is also a chat room for a few different things and one just to chat. Maybe I'll see you there.

barbiepink, I think part of having fibro is having really lousy days, not only because of the pain, but because it can sometimes be so very frustrating. Not only do we pretty much have the same symptoms (to different degrees) we also can feel somewhat alone because we don't necessarily look sick so it's hard for others to understand. I went through a really hard time when I was first diagnosed, but got to a point where I decided to pick up the pieces and try to get on with my life fighting the fibro all the way. Just about that time I also found this site and have found that it has been one of the best things for me. People here actually "get it" and share your pain and their own stories. Knowing that there are so many other people with the same thing is such a help especially on those really awful days because you know that you really are not all that alone anymore. I encourage you to visit this forum often. "Talking" about what you are feeling and maybe responding to others when they ask a question that you can answer can be so helpful. I wish you better days.

Hello barbiepink - As you can see from the responses, you have a lot of folks here willing to help. Have you checked with the National Fibromyalgia Association to see if there is a FMS support group in your area? You can also google fibromyalgia and/or chronic pain with the name of your city to see if any support groups pop up. Everyone has bad times in varying degrees handling this health problem. It can be completely overwhelming at times. Personally, I just had a terrible weekend. Today started out without a lot of promise but now I feel a bit better. No matter what happens, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. I really do feel your pain. Take care.
