Hi, I'm looking for a great doctor that understands fibro. My gp is treating me, but never has she suggest a rheumy. Wanted to know if anyone where from Canada and how well they were doing with doctor's. Doctor thought I was a total meltdown until I saw a neuro and was tested for ms.

After the Canadian Consensus, I would think it would be relatively easy to find a qualified rheumatologist. They are years ahead of the US in research. I'm almost thinking about moving to Canada because of this.

There is a good fibro Clinic here in Toronto called the TOronto Poly Pain Clinic. They do Trigger Point Injections and understand Fibro really well. It is their specialty.

I too would like to find a great fibro dr. in Canada (toronto area) do you need a referral to go to the Toronto Poly Pain Clinic? I have a rheumy but am not that happy with the care/help. I will look it up. Have they helped you?
thanks for the info

chaplin, look at the poly pain clinic, I heard some great things about them. I will be trying to get my gp to write me a recommendation to go to the pain clinic at the Ottawa General. The hick here is, they choose who they want to treat, so based on the recommendation from your doctor, they decide if you are a candidate. I shall wait until June for my doctor to return from vacation and I will ask her to write me a recommendation. Let me know how your search goes.
Axxie
