Hi!
I was diagnosed in may 2010 but my NEW doctor believes this has been going on for 12 years. I was treated for herniated disks (which I do have) and spasms during all this time. By now I'm accostumed to pain but my new symptom is numbness from waist to toes. Lyrica has helped. Excercise makes it much worse. Is there somebody out there like me?

I have FMS & I have numbness in my legs & feet. But I also get it in my hands & fingers. Lyrica has significantly helped with this.
If you're only having numbness along the sciatic nerve, it might not be FMS. FMS causes pain all over your body. So one day it's my calves & I can't walk, the next its my hands & I can't grasp. If your pain & spasms are centered around your injury it might not be FMS. You should have the tender point test at a rheumatologist to check.
A herniated disc can cause sciatic numbness & pain. The disc can bulge & push on the spinal cord. You should have an mri to rule this out b/c it's more common than FMS.
Lyrica should help if its FMS or not. Lyrica stops nerve pain & numbness. It's also used for this in diabetes.
