Bruxism teeth grinding/biting in sleep

Do any of you during sleep bite your tongue where it wakes you up from the pain? I have scars on the inside of my cheeks from biting my cheeks over the years. I have constant dreams all night and the antidepressents have made no change better or worse.

has your dentist noticed any damage to your teeth? I recommend that you see your dentist to see if you need a night guard. The best kind are custom made. For a short term solution you may want to check the dental section in your drug store for a flexible type of guard. My dentist discovered that I was really causing damage to my teeth from grinding them while sleeping. I have the custom guard from my dentist & cannot sleep without it now. The guard also absorbs the impact, so I don't wake up with sore jaws anymore.

You could be on the wrong antidepressaant and I would talk to the dentist about your grinding of teeth they can help you with that

go see your dentist as you can only cause more damage... i have had this syptom of fms for a number of years now and was starting to damage my teeth, my dentist gave me a custom made m made guard and ive never looked back, my jaws used to hurt terribly and my cheeks were raw inside... not nice, good luck

I'm with Mel. I got a night guard for my teeth a few years ago as I was having terrible jaw pain & was damaging my teeth.

I also had terrible problems with biting and hurting my mouth and damaging my teeth. I was put on 1 mg of Requip and my dentist shaved down all the sharp edges off my teeth. Didn't need a night guard after that and am now off Requip too.
