Botox for myofacial pain/ trigger point in neck/shoulders

I heard from a coworker who suffered from years of lower back pain that she got botox injections and within days she had no pain and is totally pain-free now...

I did some research on the internet and it shows positive occurences with botox injection for myofacial pain and muscle knots.

I have these huge muscle knots in neck/upper traps and pain never has gone away... anxious to know if anyone elase has done this and the verdict??

i dunno what i would do if i didn't have this chronic pain i deal with from morning to night...

thx guys!

I had Sarapin injections done instead of Botox. Sarapin is a derivative of the pitcher plant. It is non toxic and an excellent pain killer. My rheumy uses it. You may have to find a holistic doctor.

If you decide to have your trigger points injected, don't drive yourself. Have someone take you and bring an ice pack for the trip home. I had a lot of pain afterwards at the injection sites. It took about a week for all of that to fade away. But, it was definitely worth it. The pain cycle in my lower back was broken. I'd do it again if I had to. Take care.
