being sent to a rheumy - finally
1 Replies
slb71 - January 3

i have seen a gp & neurologist and now a rheumatolgist . i am not sure what to expect but i am happy that i am going. it seems to be the recommended doctor to see. i can't get in for 3 months but i have waited this long so whats a few more months, right?!

i would love to hear others' experiences so i can have an idea what to expect. my neuro said the rheumy would conduct other tests to rule out things before giving me an official diagnosis for fms which the neuro believes i have. i am pretty sure she just doesn't know what else to do for me or with me.

fantod - i have tried to find malic acid and curamin in the health stores around my hometown with no luck. what online site do you use to order them? i am leery of ordering things like that online. just never know which sites to trust or not trust.

thanks in advance

slb7 - Glad to hear that you are finally seeing a rheumy. If you can get copies of any recent tests or bloodwork to take with you that will save some time. The rheumy is just going to take a good history, do an exam checking your pressure points (standard test for Fibromyalgia (FMS) and see if there is more bloodwork to be done to rule out other isssues. If you have not had your Vitamin D level checked, that would be one. Another possibility is being tested for gluten sensitivity. The most accurate results are obtained using a stool sample. Either of these will also cause widespread pain.

For Malic Acid and Curcumin go online to Puritan's Pride. They have very good sales and are extremely reliable. I would order the highest strength Curcumin that they offer. I'd give you the link but we are not allowed to post them on this site.

Good luck and take care.
