Area doctors have little experience

My wife suffers from fibromyalgia, and was diagnosed by a specialist. She is discouraged, however, by the lack of knowledge area physicians have in the treatment of this fibromyalgia, to the point that she will no longer go to the doctor for help in treament. Does anyone have any suggestions for us?

I'm sorry to say you will need to find a doctor. Go for the Rheumatologist who diagnosis this condtition and he or she will get you on the right track. Communication on both parts are very important. Medication usually prescribed for this is: anti-depressant, and there are many, you will need to find the one that will make you feel comfortable with it . I take Remeron, less side effects. Muscle relaxers such as Flexeril and pain medication, depending on how much pain you are having. It's a start, Good Luck and let me know how you are doing. Hope I helped a little.
