Anyone take Diclofenac?

The rheumatologist prescribed me diclofenac for my fibromyalgia symptoms. Does anyone take it and does it help? I was reading the side effects the Pharmacist gave me and the first thing it said was: May increase risk of heart attack or stroke. Now I am too afraid to take it. He gave me flexeril to take at night but I hated it! It made me very loose and dopey however I didn't fall asleep until 4:00 am. It was wierd. Then I felt awful the whole next day. My neck and back tightened right back up again. Anyway, I am afraid to take the diclofenac. Any advise?

Is that a muscle relaxer?

Flexeril is a muscle relaxer. Diclofenac is generic for voltaren which is a NSAID.

Oh, thanks!! There are so many of them!!! I take Indocin & naprosen, alternating, NEVER AT THE SAME TIME! That is dangerous! I am not familar with Diclofenac?

Diclofenac is an anti inflammatory. I only use it on a very bad day, and it does help a lot, without making me drowsy! I won't take it every day, as it can affect the gullet (oesophagus) and the stomach, which is why i reserve it for the bad days. You say about the risk of heart attacks and strokes, most medications come with that warning...even the contraceptive pill, it is merely a warning, to protect the drug companies.
