Anyone see a pain psychologist or a pain psychiatrist?

Anyone see a pain psychologist or a pain psychiatrist? I've been referred to both but still await a phone call from them. Maybe the new psychiatrist will get it better than my last one who just said "well you would have to go off all your pain killers for us to treat your depression" lol.

I see a psychologist who specializes in people with chronic illness. I would have to say that while we don't always agree he has done a good job of helping me manage my issues. He has a huge interest in holistic medicine and has made some very good suggestions about exploring some of those options. He doesn't always think though the ramifications of dealing with pain and fatigue (only human) on a daily basis clearly. I just stand my ground and we fight like we're married until the light bulb goes on.

Our "project" at moment is getting some holistic blood tests by another doctor done to see where I have problems with cell energy. absorption, and other functions of the body. The test results will not be in for 5 weeks (Genova Diagnostics - Nutra Val test). The object of the exercise is to eventually try and wean me off of my huge collection of prescriptions. I have found it very helpful to talk to someone who "gets" chronic illness and all of its ramifications.

I hope that your phone call comes soon. In the interim, just know I am thinking about you and hoping for positive changes in your life. Take care.

I see a Naturalpath doctor tomorrow. I'll see what Holistic medicine I can add to help optimize my treatment.
