Hello everyone. wondering if anyone is in the Worcester, MA area. I've been contacted by a research study group for fibro and wanted to pass along the info is anyone was interested.

Thanks for letting us know. Is there a website to go to?

no, sorry, no website that i know. all i have is the phone #508-755-0201.
it's a study on a medicine that's been approved by the FDA for other things, but not fibro. it's called pregabalin. thing is, you have to stop taking ALL of the meds you take for fibro to do this study. 15 visits in 4 1/2 months, and no compensation.
not really something i want to get into.
who knows what this med will do to you, and also, what if you're off all your fibro meds and they give you a placebo??

I looked this medication up at Medscape. You can find all the information about the med. It has not been used on humans yet but they claim it is an anticonvulsant. Sometimes doctors will put you on neurotin, which is an anticonvulsant to deal with this condition. I am not. I'm on muscle relaxants at this time but was approached about neurotin. I believe in the less medication the better. What fibro medes are you on? e-mail me if you don't want to put it on the web. [email protected]

Hi Jean~ interesting that it hasn't been used on humans. lovely! i've heard of the neurotin, hasn't been offered to me yet. i agree with you, the less meds the better. right now i'm on 300mg/day of wellbutrin, xanax as needed (usually 2x a day), elavil and norflex (muscle relaxer) for sleeping.
how about you, are you just on muscle relaxants?

[email protected] - September 28

I'm on remeron for depression and anxiety, one at bedtime. Talwin NX (opiod)for pain 2-4 times a day and Flexeril a muscle relaxer 3 times a day. I take these for the Fibromyalgia and Myofascial pain syndrome and osteoarthritis. I was on ambien for sleep but I have been on it for so long it was not working any more so they tried something stronger and it put me into a flare so I'm not taking anything for sleep anymore.
