Today will be the last day of my health insurance as I've been layed off work because of chronic asthma. The Dr. that is in charge of my case doesnot make the connection in my case to the pain I'm in and has stated that the myofacialpain syndrome (diag. feb 05) or the fibromyalgia (dia. march 06) are junk science. So heres the rub: the state will be picking up the tab for the asthma but my employer is dropping my health insurance end of july (nice guy) on the state payments I willnot be able to afford the coverage myself, and am freaking out that my Dr. will not pursue the treatment for the fibro and mfps. what am I' going to do. Anyone to share their thoughts would be appreciated.. thanks fo letting me vent. Tim

Have you tried any of the discount programs.. I am on one. Also most doctors will work with you if you ask them to they have what is called a self pay scale. I had an mri done on my letter of protection from my attorney to the cost of 1473.00 a year later I had to have the mri done I asked them since I do not have health insurance what they charge for a self pay, I got it done fro 460.00 over a 1000.00 saving. Just a thought I do not know all your financial situation.

Well.. if you are going to be laid off.. then you are not working.. therefore making you eligible for assistance. . I was on title 19 for a short while when i was pregnant.. to cover the time before my husbands insurance kicked in at his new job.. it covers EVERYTHING.. and if you have a valid reason for not working.. then you should easily qualify
