Posture is a good starting point

We all hurt, and for most of us, it is all the time. But how do we know if the things that we are doing is making the pain better or worse, especially when exercising? Two years ago, I had the misfortune of being in a car accident and having to have my entire lumbar spine fused. Through my own research, past experiences, and physical rehab, I have come to realize how important our posture is. A misalignment of a foot can cause you to walk improperly, which can cause you pain in that knee, causing you to change your weight distribution, and causing pain in the opposite knee, hip and/or back. All the while, your foot feels fine. Your posture on the treadmill, in the water, sitting, or standing can effect how you persieve the effectiveness of the exercise. If you can correct your posture, then you will have a good baseline for deciding if your pain is exercise induced or fibro induced. Until then, you are just guessing.
