What kinds of exercises have you found to be gentle, effective, over time, apart from water therapy exercises?

Gentle Yoga has helped me a lot.

Stretching before getting out of bed in the mornings has helped me to move with less pain first thing in the mornings

Believe it or not ...Curves. At first I was so miserable I thought I was going to die then after a few weeks, I still hurt but not as bad, I had more energy and overall felt better.

Hello mammacita: Stretching exercises throughout the day. Your Rheumatologists office should have a packet on stretches that will help you with this condition. :) smile
