What kind of exercise are you doing?

Whatever kind of exercise you are doing, it is important to really pace yourself and don't overdo it. Starting out slowly made the difference for me between no exercise and consistent exercise. I started out on an elliptical trainer at 5 minutes. Then very gradually, I increased the time, some days on the elliptical and some days walking either outside or in a gym. That was one year ago, just after receiving my diagnosis of fibromyalgia. So far, this winter I am doing much better overall and can maintain my exercise for up to 45-50 minutes without much difficulty...so if your body responds as mine did, regular exercise, starting slowly and increasing the amount of time very gradually as well as keeping the exercise at a level of intensity that is not painful or causing shortness of breath has worked quite well. Also, gentle stretching and massage by someone who knows a lot about fibromyalgia have helped with the shoulder, neck, and head pain. Hope this helps. Good luck.
