My Fb is really bad at the mo. Think the emotional stress of loosing 5 people close to me including my beautiful Mum in Feb has taken a toll. Went to the doctor today and he gave me the above and told me to increase my amitriptalin . I am at my wits end the pain and insomnia is taking over my life, I have read good and bad reviews of the above, the side effects listed go on for ever, can anyone give me some personal feedback. Be really grateful x

I know you posted this question long ago, but I just found this site and here is my experience; Gabapentin is wonderful. Before they had me on it I could not even take a shower without feeling like needles were being thrown at me full force! It did not take away all of the pain or flare up episodes but I am worse without it! I also found it helped with the fatique. For me, antidepressents did nothing but increase fibro fog. My head is so clear without antidepressents! I am not depressed! I am in pain!No more anti's for me!I swear by gabapentin! I at least have a portion of my life back because of gabapentin/neurontin! I hope it is helping you!

Gabapentin is also great on regulating your body temp!

I'm glad the gabapentin is working for you, aemling. But it's different for everyone, and some people do experience side effects on this drug. I look forward to the day when doctors can do a little test in the office to assess metabolism and see if a drug will affect a patient well or badly!

I agree January, I take gabapentin at night for chronic RLS, I always have a headache in the morning, but I am pretty sure it is from the pills, when I have to awake very early in morning, I will not take them and I have no headache when I wake up.
