disability and fibromynalgia

annilovesyou - February 24

I was diagnosed with fibro 7 years ago at the age of 24. I was born with a cyst in my spinal cord that caused my entire left side to be smaller then my right. Due to this, I have had 16 foot surgeries, a major spinal cord surgery and major vascular issues. This obviously complicates the fibro issues and I have not had a day without serious pain since I was 12 years old. I believe that I had signs of fibro even at a very young age.

This past November, I was fired from my job due to my disease. I was a contract employee and had no recourse to this action. I had been running a 6 state territory so this time without work has shown me how little I really am able to do. I took pride in my job and how much I "sucked it up" to do something I love. Now I realize that I was doing so much more then what was healthy for me. I am unable to manage my pain anymore and have filed for disability. This process is super intimidating & I would appreciate any advice anyone has.

Thank you & I pray you are having a reduced pain day!
