Why does eating certain diet with FMS help the pain?

Fantod - April 4

The large majority of FMS patients are extremely sensitive to chemicals and additives in food. Artifical sweetners including Splenda are known to increase pain levels in people with FMS. Any sweetner made is the nontoxic Stevia plant is OK to use. Anything with nitrates (lunchmeat, hot dogs) will also increase pain levels. Deep fried foods also increase pain levels and cause inflammation. It is generally better for anyone with Fibromyalgia to stick to a simple diet that contains as much fresh food, and high protein as possible. Take care.

For a good example of the diet you should be following google "mediterranean diet."
