Organic produce...milk products

M - March 8

I am 20 years old and have FM. I am also a full time student, so it is extremely hard to keep under control. Over the last year I developed the inability to handle most conventional produce without having an allergic reaction, along with not being able to handle milk on my stomach. Is this normal for FM? Does this tell me there are probably more things out there food-wise that are triggers?

Yes I have read that fibromyalgia does cause food intolerances...
I too have recently discovered I have many intolerances, and have completely changed my diet knocking out wheat amongst other things.....
Although my pain has not diminished any, the tiredness and exhaustion I was laid up with is so much better.....
A book I recommend is 'the Fibromyalgia Healing Diet' by Christine Craggs Hinton.....
There may well be other things that are triggers for you, and not everything in this book is suitable for me, but it is a good base and a lot of really useful info on foods.....

My doctor put me on a sugar-free/yeast-free diet about 4 months ago. I have never felt better and have lost 18 pounds too.

Milk has high concentrations of glutimate, as domushrooms and tomatoes.

You're body may have trouble metabolizing it.

You'll probably have problems with MSG and Aspertame as well.

Look up the link between them in the medical archives at www.pubmed.gov (make sure you filter out the research that is sponsored by the food companies that produce MSG)
