Hello dlcougar. My mother has had it affect her knee, it went out & she wore a knee brace for about 1 year. Now her knee is better but she must be careful. Pain from this disorder (or disease?) can move, so another time you may experience the worst pain in another area of your body. Fibromyalgia affects all of the soft tissues in the body including the cartilage of the knee. The knee cannot maintain and restore itself when affected so it grinds down in the knees. I am thankful I am not affected in the knees except for a lot of cracking noise (not painful there for me). Alternating cold & hot packs along with elevation, knee brace and pain pills seemed to help my mother. Some people get a shot of cortisone in knee for excrutiating pain. Please talk to your Dr. about it. I hope it gets better for you soon! Take care. | |
