Does anyone get sporadic choking episodes?
Sometimes just when I'm talking to some one I will get a spasm in my throat that causes me to choke and get coughing fits.
I was diagnosed in Feb 06 with fibro but symptoms have been there for 4-5 years, something in me told me that there was something wrong but took me a while to work up the courage to start the long path of finding doctors I could trust to help me.

Yes! It seems like I'm choking on my own spit...gross, but accurate. The other day I choked on some bread crumbs from my toast. It helps to know there are others out there like me!

Patients may have difficulty swallowing which is a result of objective abnormalities in smooth muscle functioning in the esophagus. I have information on my site.

Hi everyone, I choke too. I noticed if I get upset or raise my voice I choke and have a coughing fit. Sometimes it seems to happen for no reason. Lately it takes me forever to eat. I have trouble swallowing. I am always the last to finish eating. I am glad to hear it is a symptom of fibro, I was beginning to worry it was something else. Brandy
