Is there a forum for friends and family to discuss things through?

I have spent months and very stressfull times trying to get advice and sound off my problems/concerns.

It is great being able to read and talk to suffers, but sometimes I need to talk to others in the same boat, to learn and pass on what I have learnt.

If there is no such place where can I start one?

Hello David - On the righthand side of this page, there is a forum for family member support. It is not particularly active which is a shame. I'm not aware of any other internet site available for family members who are caretakers. I'm sure that there must be some out there. I would think that any support group for caretakers would do. A lot of the issues are pretty much the same no matter the cause. You might check with your local hospital and see if they know of a group for caretakers dealing with chronic pain. You could try googling it as well with the name of your metro area and see what pops up. A safe and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

Slight problem we are in the United Kingdom and Fibromyalgia is in its infancy as far as its recognition by the medical services never mind the Support services.

This is why I am scouring everywhere to gain insights and prevent inventing the wheel.

There are UK based support groups but like I said if I can get information help whatever the source then I will.

Hi there!
I am a mom of a 12 year old "fibrogirl" and I try to check in here on a regular basis.

Being a mom and having your child go through this is difficult. I do appreciate that it is not worse (like terminal cancer or something) but some days I just get upset that she has this in her life.
Almost nothing surprises me now, after 2 years of this rollercoaster ride....
Every few days its a different area of pain for her, or she has nausea that won't go away, or she is too tired to do anything after sleeping for 12 hours. Last night she woke up almost yelling in pain...which was in her eye.

I try to encourage her to carry on with life as best as she can and she does...most days. She has a few days where she curls up in bed for most of the day--but thankfully those don't happen too often.
