don't currently have health insurance. I started having chest pain last Nov. I went to the emergency room and they told me that I had Costochondritis.For a week or so I suffered from the pain , then it went away.In march I began again.I was so scared I went to urgent care Dr.'s 3 times. They did every test they could on me. Again Costochondritis. I've spent so much money they I really don't even have to spend.Sometime the pain is so bad I cant think of anything else.I have a one year old and two year old and it hurts so bad for me to even hug them.In the morning I might get up and try to walk down the stairs, not realizing how sore my body is.I almost fell down the stairs one time because the pain was so intense.In the moring it takes almost an hour for me to get out before the stiff pain is gone. I have pain in my face sometimes and I know I'm goin to have a bad day when the base of my head where the neck meets, there will be to notches on either side that are sore.It hurts to even just press on my skin. In nov. I also started having anxiety attacks which I've never had. It's scary. It's stressful. I just don't want to keep hurting.Even though he has never said so, my husband probably thinks I'm faking because its so many things and itsd so random.I just need to know whats wrong.Or at least know someone who is going through it too.

It sounds like you may have Fibromyalgia (FMS). But there are some other things that can mimic it like a thyroid problem. To be be sure, you will have to see a rheumotologist and have some tests done. I'm so sorry to hear that you don't have any health insurance at this time. Maybe your local hospital or United Way may know of a free clinic you could go to to get some help. Take care.

I'm sorry you have no health benefits, it must be hard.

Can you google in your area or state to see if there are free clinics care or hospital that can help you.

I know that if you search pharmaceutical you get medicine sometimes for free.

I hope you get better soon.

If it is any consolation, you truly are not alone. Doctors can be most frustrating through this process of diagnosing FM. Finding one that respects the brutality it causes is unfortunately a challenge.

I do most of my own research in natural remedies and find them to be more productive than the medication path at times. I found this web site on 'costochondritis' and thought it may be helpful to you. The following quote was part of the site.

"Costochondritis is an inflammation of the cartilage that attaches the ribs to the breastbone, it can be caused by infection, an inflammatory disease process and other unknown causes. As with most health conditions, stress and tension will make the pain worse.

Pushing on the ribs and sternum causes pain, there may be intermittment stabbing pains, a constant dull ache, there may also be pain in the shoulders, arms and back. The tight and swollen chest muscles may even give the feeling of heart attack or lung problems – of course a health practitioner should rule out any health conditions relating to the heart or lungs. When it is a chronic condition, it will tend to come and go, in many cases it disappears completely in 6 – 12 months."
