Fibro and Disability

I have been dealing with the pains of fibromyalgia for at least 4-5 years. The sysmptons have increasingly gotten worse over the years. My back and my hips hurt so much I can barely walk, fingers ache and hurt, knees ache,hurt and pop all day. According to a theapits I can only sit 1-2 hour in an 8 hr work day, stand 2-3 hours and walk 2-3 hours in an 8 hour work day. My FMLA just ran out and I have had to resign from my job. I applied for SSDI in March of 2009. Still waiting to hear from them.

Has anyone else out there applied for disability? Did anyone win? Please let me know your story. It would really help me. Thank you. Hope we can all be there for each other.

Unfortunately, it is likely that your claim will be denied. Most people who apply on their own and even with a lawyer are denied. You need to hire an expert to help you with your case. Many people on this board have/or are using Allsup. They win the case 97% of the time upon the first application. A friend of mine got disability through them in 6 months. Allsup does all of the work and interacts with Social Security. They are very organized and easy to work with. The fee structure is reasonable in my opinion.

I would encourage you to at least talk to Allsup.
