Is this a genetic disease?

I have been living with fibro since 1986. My son has not able to work for a few months due to extreme pain in multiple areas. He recently fell at work which resulted in knee surgery, and he also has a history of back pain and surgery. His pain is so widespread now and yet the MRI doesn't show why. Could this be fibro related?

From my own family experience, fibro does seems to be genetic. My mother had it, I have it and I have a first cousin who is disabled with it.

Fibromyalgia is also due to trauma as well. Rheumatologist can diagnose to get the facts about this to begin with. He will start you out in the right way with medication if needed and stretching exercises but with the injury just do what the doc tells you at this time but do inquire about the Fibro and see what he has to say about it.
