hi there, does anyone suffer from palpitations at all. mine always starts acting up when i have wind in my stomach, its like the wind is coming round my heart and making it flutter. i only ever get it with wind (thank god). but it can be very frightening especially when it takes your breath. the only thing that relieves my palpitations is actually burping, and trying to relieve the wind that way.would you please reply even if it hasn't got anything to do with wind , i'm very curious to know if any one else suffers from this and what causes it. many thanks peachmelba uk

Yes, I have palpitations, and skipped beats, too. You're right, they are scary. Matter of fact, I just had a heart ultrasound and 24-hr EKG monitor done because of that. The verdict? Anxiety and stress. If you have anxiety, that'll sure do it. And I think palpitations can also be a symptom of GERD, which I also have.

I have the same thing. Many people with fibro get iron deficiency anemia which is what i have. When my iron is too low, the heart palps start coming by the truck load. You might want to get vitamin levels checked.
