Medications and Fibromyalgia

My doctor prescribed Lipitor for me last September. He increased my dosage in January and that's when I began to have severe muscle and joint pain. Has anyone ever linked cholesterol medications with the onset of fibromyalgia symptoms?

Yes! With my fibro the pain is worse in my upper legs than any where else. I was put on 20 mg Lipitor and after a while thought I was in a horrible flare. It wouldnt go away. I mentioned it to my diabetes dr and she took me off of the Lipitor for a week then told me to only take 10 mg when I started back. It made a world of difference. I am back to the "normal" pain levels.
