So many pains - is it fibromyalgia?

I am a 57-year-old woman and am wondering if I could have fibromyalgia. Three years ago I developed a sudden headache that has never gone away. It sounds like occipital neuralgia (pins and needles in face and head, pain in head, etc.) but covers my entire head and face, so the dr. doesn't really know what it is. Recently I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands, plus I have tendonitis in both thumbs. I have fashiitis in one heel, as well as acid reflux. (Without medication, I get very nauseaus after eating certain foods.) And for many years I've had sciatica on one side. I told my dr. I'm too young to be hurting in so many places, and he agreed. Am I just falling apart, or are these symptoms of fibromyalgia? I'd appreciate any help y'all can give me!

Hi nmc52, kind of hard to even tell if you have it, you need to have your doctor send you for some blood tests to rule out associated conditions.

Do you also have difficulty sleeping, feeling of being tired all the time, do you awake unrefreshed from your sleep, stiff joints in the morning that usually feel better as the day goes on, headaches, tingling or numbness in hands and feet and depression.

"fibromyalgia" is a myofascial pain, muscular pain syndrome that can result in generalized back pain and muscle pain, a feeling of general fatigue and specific tender areas, tender points that are tender to palpation such as the specific places on the neck, shoulders, back hips, arms, and legs.

Fibro mostly will affect middle-age women who are otherwise healthy, but it does affect all women of all ages as well as men and children.

Get your doctor to send you to a rheumy, I would advise that you peruse the top of this page for friendly fibro rheumy prior to going, have a list of with your symptoms and what kind of pain you are having for each symptoms. It will help the rheumy to diagnose you, after all your tests come in.

Good luck to you and let us know how things work out for you. Keep your spirit alive.

Thyroxine should be taken the first in the morning alone with only juice (no milk). Wait two hours then take zantac and pantoprazole can be taken together with breakfast without citrus.
Take Amitriptyline in the afternoon and lipidor after supper only and you get take Cymbalta in the evening alone or with a little somithing.

Cymbalta should always be taken alone so that you can monitor your symptoms. At first Cymbalta will may make you sleepy or the complete reverse. I've been on it for a long time now that I now take mine in the morning as it keeps me awake. But at first I was tired and just wanted to sleep.

Good luck to you and let me know how you feel
