Ok...What I have read pretty much describes what I feel and have. BUT...most of what I read also says that Fibro sufferers have constant pain. Mine comes and goes. Anyone else? I may have 2, 3 or more days where I feel pretty good then BAM! I wake up one morning and out of the blue I can't walk to the bathroom without limping, moaning and groaning. This may last a day or more then maybe I'll have a good day or two again. I feel like I'm going out of my mind. Is this the way anyone else feels? I've had all the blood work and everything including RA and Lupus has come back normal. Just call me 'Limpy'.

I think the "constant pain vs. the 'comes and goes'" depends on the person and the circumstances. Both can happen with fibro. It's the intensity that is variable. And the intensity sort of depends on other things like environment, stress, weather, amount of physical activity, etc. I have been under a lot of stress so right now I am having more intense pain. However, usually, I have a good couple days and then I'm down for the count.

Some days I feel great, and can be normal, then something like the weather will jinx it and I'm in pain. Summer for me are nice, especially when it's hot and humid, but watch out if there any disturbances with the weather and then I ache, limp and groan for however days it going to take.

I'm variable as the weather is, winter is murder for me, I'm usually in constant pain.

Everyone is different, same for the drugs you take, one drug can work for you and won't for the next person.

I found taking care of myself and not get upset makes a difference in how I feel that day.

The one thing I can say, is I have a very short temper, a whalling kid or load music will set me off. To save myself, I tend to stay away from crowds and very much a home body.

I have the come and go pain. One day I feel like I can get up and go all day and then the next morning I can't hardly get out of bed. I just don't make plans for the next day b/c I never know how I am going to feel.
I know how you feel about the loud music and I love music but somedays I just can't stand any type of loud noises.
I am doing better since my dr. put me on Lyric tho.

It is not constant pain. You can have days with very minimal pain. I have had no pain at all for nearly a month but I have terrible fibrofog so bad I can barely function. I find that when I have very limited pain my cognitive abilities are impaired so I am never without some symptom. I am also experiencing dizziness right now and terrible fatigue, but little pain. I also get the bad foot and ankle pain when I get up in the morning, but again, not everday.

Loud music drives me crazy too. I find I feel much worse in the spring. I also get vertigo in the spring. I gather this dizziness is just another symptom.

What drugs do you people take? My doctor prescribed nothing.

dexter,
So you get vertigo? Do you ever have allergy symptoms, also, or headache? I've had vertigo for the last week and a half. It's been mostly when going from sitting up to lying down and vice versa or turning over in bed. I also had it in the shower when washing my hair and I tilted my head back and looked up at the ceiling.

Doctor said it goes along with other allergy symptoms which I have right now (some congestion/drainage/cough/slight headache). Thing is, I must just be extremely sensitive without having full-blown allergies (I've had the stick tests and the bloodwork). And, as I understand it, multiple sensitivities is classic hallmark of Fibro.

Oh, and btw, I'm not on fibro meds, either. My rheum. prescribed Lyrica a few years ago when it first came out but I never bothered with it. I didn't want to try it as it was new for fibro use and also I just try to stay away from meds as much as possible. (I'm already on 6 prescriptions and a bunch of vitamins). As far as my family doctor, he writes few prescriptions. I've found he often recommends natural remedies. Sometimes, though, a natural remedy will have contraindications or be controversial in some way and I'll steer clear of them, too.

My doctor know nothing about fibromyalgia (or anything else I suspect). He thought I had depression, like it was all in my head. I have had firbro since the '80's before they even had a name for it. I get dizziness bad. I also have ringing in my ears. I was diagnosed with Meniere's but I am thinking that this vertigo and nausea is fibro related. I don't have allergies, but I get headaches. The vertigo can get bad like you say when you roll over in bed even you feel dizzy and can induce vomitting. I take nothing for the fibro as the side effects of Lyrica are weight gain and fatigue and I have enough of that already. My specialist said exercise and vitamin D.
