yes....i think that too. It is very scary when you feel so much pain in so many parts of your body all of the time. And you go to the doctor and they just brush you off and make you feel like it's all in your head. The worse part about FM is that it could possibly mask other symptoms and diagnosis that are occurring. However, if all of your blood work comes back good and you have been diagnosed with FM than you do feel more at ease with thinking; oh that's just part of it isn't it. Take Care!

No - I refuse to let myself wander in that direction. It only adds more stress to an already mind-bending situation. I figure because I spend more time in the doctor's office as a science project than in my own home they're bound to figure out if the problem is anything more than FMS. Take care.

I know the pain is sometimes frightening, but get a whole of yourself. I know first hand what cancer is, you see I had it twice in two different times in my life. Every patient will tell you, that CANCER does not hurt, it only rears it's ugly head, when it's too late and you are dying of it. That my friend I can vouch for, as I just felt the pain of loosing my father in-law of bone cancer.

Don't forget that anxiety is part and parcel of fibro, too. Since just about every symptom possible is part of fibro, it would make sense that we would feel anxious.

I have those thoughts at times too. I think it's normal now and then because the pain gets so bad. I start to worry about colon cancer because of such bad IBS but I know that it's a huge part of Fibro. I worry about other cancers, because of extreme pain and fatigue also. I can usually talk myself down out of the stressful thoughts I get like that, cause I know what a demon this fibro is that I'm living with. Stress, anxiety and pain, all part of the disease all of us on this site live with every day and nite. The weather changed again today, and I'm feeling especially terrible. It helps to come here and talk with others who are going through the same thing and understand. Hope you're doing better. Let's hope for better days for all of us :)

Yeah, pretty much everyday. I think I'm dying of cancer all the time. Especially the past 8 months as my IBS has been out of conrol and I've had every test under the sun and they can't find anything wrong. So I get really paranoid from time to time. Still, I try to remain positive and push those thoughts out of my mind. But you know how that goes... you hear about cancer every single day so how do you not worry about it. Especially when you're sick all the time and doctors can never find anything truly wrong...well, anything concrete. I've even had a bone marrow test for cancer before so of course that added to my paranoia. Us poor fibros...we really get the short end of the stick but at least we can come here and share our thoughts without the fear of crazy looks or being called hypochondriacs. At least my anxiety has improved since I started seeing a pain management doc.

Well, cancer runs in my family, if I tell you how many family members I've had die from cancer I'll start to freak.

Yes, I am often frightened by my pain. I have had fibro for more than 25 years, and as I get older the pain has gotten worse. I have not worried about cancer, but certainly about heart disease. My pain is now in my chest, upper back, shoulders, and sometimes jaw. I have lots of other symptoms also. I guess anxiety would be the worst thing for me to deal with. I just keep reading these comments for support, and keep reminding myself that it just my fibro. I also have been tested for heart disease, and nothing has shown up.

Yes if does run across your mind.So just make sure you get a total blood work up.I just got mine and called my Dr.Office and she said if anything was wrong the Dr. would have called.THE RECEPTIONIST AND HE ALWAYS HAS NEW ONE.So don't go on their word ask for the Dr.to call you or the physician assitant (spelling) Got the spelling back Fibro has got to go instead of my mind. When I go on the 2nd of Sept. My pain Dr.will have the blood work too so I am going to find out from both their veiw and see if they agree with the blood work up.
