Consultant's waste of time

Went to see the consultant yesterday and he would not say whether I had fibromyalgia he just kept saying everytime I asked him I'ts just wear & tear which I started to get annoyed at he also said I was far to young at 41 to be a sufferer of this condition. He has told me to dump the Ibrobrufen and just take paracetamol which don't even touch the pain never mind ease it so I'm still no nearer to finding out waht the problem is. But found out today that here in the UK a doctor wont admit to saying you have Fibromyalgia as you can now claim disability with this condition. He has now discharged me. I did 2 hours of an 8 hour shift today and was in severe pain when I got home. The mind boggles how they pass exams to become doctors.

Bugs Mrs. Zozzer! Are you able to choose another doctor? Maybe some research would find one there that specializes in this? I am amazed at how most docs just want you to take a pill and never mind fixing the actual problem! Don't give up! I will pray for you!

Hello Mrs. Zozzer, sad that you have just a bad result with your consultant. If you google UK Fibromyalgia advocacy fm friendly doctors, you will see names of of UK doctors who can help you. It even has almost like this board, many links on fibro, claiming benefits, legal aspects, etc.
