I've been diagnosed with FMS for nearly 10 years now. I get the heel pain. It seems to come and go, but at my worst moments is there. The best way I can describe it is as a sensation of a metal rod being shoved up the heel of my foot. Sometimes it is just one heel, other times it both.

JR, I have had FM for 15 years. Year 3 of FM I got severe heal pain. It got so bad, I could not stand more than 10 minutes without horrible pain. FM causes connective tissue problems. I was diagnosed with plantar facitis. I have had surgery, and it did not help. My case is severe. Don't let your case get out of hand. My foot pain is for life.

Thanks Joe S. I am about where you were with your heals except with my job I was a sales manager where I was on my feet most of the day in customers offices usually standing. In my case, I noticed the heel pain before anything else. I can only stand about five to ten minutes before they hurt. I probably let the problem go way too long. Walking or moving seems to help. I just had surgery on the left heel for a nerve entrapment but I still have pain. I have my first visit to a Rhematoligist scheduled in August. Again thanks to all who responded.
